Irene Young
My name is Irene Young. I am an artist who has been painting for
many years and have sold my works throughout Australia and around the
world to collectors in Spain, the US, England, Canada and Japan.
Presently, I live in the southern hills of the city of Perth, Western
Australia, an area which has a wonderful diversity of native animals,
birds and flora, which is a great inspiration to me. Watercolour is my
favourite medium as I feel it gives my work a fresh, translucent quality
that instils a feeling of life like images and I love the freedom it
gives me to express light and line. Though I major in watercolour, I do
dabble in acrylics, oils, pastels and mixed media. Although I love
painting the varied animals, birds and flora of my country, I have also
painted landscapes and portraits, done illustration and art for
publication, and taught others how to explore their creative artistic
side. At present, I am moving into larger scale paintings and exploring
diverse avenues new to me.
