Ralph LeCompte
I was raised in the Pacific Northwest and the vivid visual imagery of
popular American culture. I love an eclectic approach to painting and
often find myself drawn to obscure subjects and time frames. I have
shown my work throughout the Northwest United States and Japan and
currently have over 50 works on permanent display in schools,
restaurants, office buildings and private collections.
When I
considered listing appearances in over 50 juried exhibitions and awards
I have won, it occurred to me that it just doesn’t matter. What matters
is how my art is perceived. If it appeals to you in some way or inspires
a thought or emotion, then I am happy. I am simply seeking beauty,
truth, humor and an appreciation for color and form.
I firmly
believe that the art should speak more than the artist. Thank you for
considering my world view as seen through my art.
